“K” Line Electronic Release for delivery of Containerised Import Cargo |
Following on from the successful introduction of our email pdf Delivery Order service introduced some years ago and the savings in time and cost that this has given to importers the final stage of releasing containerised imports electronically to terminal operators is planned to be introduced on the 1st February 2007. What this means for our customers is that road operators will be able to enter the release number against their container in their road booking to ensure efficient and secure release of the container. The "Delivery Order Number" which is printed on all "K" Line Delivery Orders is a unique system randomly produced number which provides an extra level of security to importers when releasing containers. In addition the road operator will be able to take delivery of the container/s without the requirement to produce any manual document. Rail transport can also be arranged using this unique release number for containers required to be transported from terminals via this method of transport. "K" Line is already producing these Delivery Order Numbers on all hard copy and electronic delivery orders issued to be ready for the new fully electronic release in February.
